Batting Practice
My son was learning "T" ball baseball and was having difficulty hitting the regulation "T" ball. I decided to move a step "down the ladder" and put together a launcher for plastic balls (you know the ones used in the play area of hamburger restaurants). I needed something that would launch them a distance since they are very hard to throw by hand the same distance. So I rigged up a launcher using PVC plumbing pipe off the shelf. The most important part was using my Shopvac to provide the propulsion to actually launch the balls down this rifle-like, plastic ball launcher. It works perfect. A ball is dropped down a tube where it is launched, for some distance I might add, in the direction of my son. By the time it gets to him it has slowed down to the point he can focus on trying to hit it. To say the least, it has improved his hitting ability considerably. Oh, after we're finished practicing/playing, we use the Shop Vac's suction mode to pick up the balls for storage.
